Ubisoft Bordeaux
Founded in 2017, Ubisoft Bordeaux works with passion on the biggest AAA titles to deliver the best gaming experiences. Today, the studio is composed of over 400 talents from 15 different nationalities, working on licenses such as Assassin's Creed, Beyond Good & Evil 2 and other unannounced projects. At the same time, the studio has set up a Tech branch which works on all Ubisoft's online services (named Online Services) and on the Anvil game engine. A R&D unit, La Forge, has also been set up, bringing together engineers and researchers to work on prototypes for game production, particularly in the field of AI.
Job Description
We are looking for a Cinematic Designer to join the production team to work on a confidential project. As part of the Real team, you will be responsible for the implementation of scripted events of cinematic scenes and the cinematics into the engine throughout the production, in collaboration with animation, programming, level design, quest design and level art teams.
As such, your missions will be the following:
- Create narrative moments, including in-game dialogue scenes by working on the rhythm, the cameras and the characters animation
- Establish the list of assets that other departments need for each scripted/cinematic event.
- Organize and coordinate the resolution of technical problems on the assigned topics
- Initiate and participate in knowledge sharing, problem solving, and technology watch
- Document the pipeline and animation systems for internal knowledge sharing
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the video game industry
- Good filming and directing sense
- Good knowledge of engine constraints and programming basics
- The understanding of scripting languages is a plus
- Experience with character and camera animation on 3D software is a plus
- Experience in video editing and editing is an asset for this position
- You are curious and appreciate technical subjects
