Scope of Eligibility
Open to permanent employees in a competitive title who work for the Community Investment & Economic Revitalization Program and meet the requirements below.
Description
Under the general supervision of a supervisory official in a state department, institution, or agency, performs duties of significant difficulty and/or supervises staff involved with review, analysis, and appraisal of current department administrative procedures, organization, and performance, and prepares recommendations for changes and/or revision therein; Supervises staff and work activities. Prepares and signs official performance evaluations for subordinate staff; does other related duties as required.

Provides comprehensive analytical and administrative support to the Community and Local Government Support (CLGS) Office and the Youth Inclusion Initiative (YII) grant program. Conducts detailed analysis of program operations, fiscal processes, and administrative procedures to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Supports grant administration activities, prepares reports and recommendations, and coordinates cross-departmental initiatives to advance environmental justice goals.Bottom of Form
Preferred Skillset
Preference will go to candidates with strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic information systems, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Requirements
NOTE: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.

Eight (8) years of professional experience involving the review, analysis, and evaluation of budget, organization, administrative practices, operational methods, management operations, or data processing applications, or any combination thereof, which shall have included responsibility for the recommendation, planning, and/or implementation of improvements in a business or government agency.
OR
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and four (4) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.
OR
Possession of a Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Accounting; and three (3) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.
NOTE: "Professional experience" refers to work that is creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the profession's principles, concepts, theories, and practices; and is performed with the authority to act according to one's own judgment and make accurate and informed decisions.
NOTE:  All U.S. degrees and transcripts must be from an accredited college or university.  All foreign degrees and transcripts must be evaluated for accreditation by a recognized evaluation service by the closing date of this posting.  Failure to provide documentation may result in ineligibility.
License
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

Residency

Skills Required

  • Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Accounting from an accredited college or university and three years of qualifying professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Valid New Jersey driver's license if operating a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary for essential job duties.
  • Authorization to work in the United States under Department of Homeland Security and USCIS regulations.
