Are You Ready to Make It Happen at Mondelēz International?
Join our Mission to Lead the Future of Snacking. Make It Uniquely Yours.
Are you the kind of engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges while driving a culture of continuous improvement? Someone who gets energized by troubleshooting automation systems, finding root causes, and keeping production running at its best - using brains over budget? Then this role is for you.
You will take technical ownership of a production line with a strong focus on automation systems, while maintaining and strengthening our continuous improvement (CI) processes. Your mission: maximize uptime, eliminate recurring failures, and drive equipment reliability through smart, hands-on engineering and structured CI methodologies.
How You Will Contribute
You will:
- Own the technical performance and availability of the production line - proactively identifying and eliminating recurring stops and disturbances
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues across PLC, HMI, VFDs, drives, sensors, servo systems, and industrial networking
- Diagnose and support mechanical systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings) when needed as part of holistic troubleshooting
- Facilitate structured root cause analysis (RCA, 5-Why, Fishbone) to address chronic losses and departmental KPI scorecard gaps, and implement sustainable countermeasures
- Develop and drive preventive and condition-based maintenance strategies with a strong focus on automation reliability
- Provide training on CI tools, techniques, and autonomous maintenance (AM) to build first-line defense capabilities among operators and colleagues
- Support teams in data collection and analysis to drive CI activities and our daily management system (DMS)
- Establish new work standards to sustain improvements and document technical solutions that strengthen the team long-term
- Manage critical spare parts and proactively address component availability risks
What You Will Bring
A passion for automation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, along with:
- Strong experience in troubleshooting and maintaining automation systems (PLC, HMI, VFDs, servo drives, sensors, industrial communication protocols) - Siemens or Allen-Bradley preferred
- CI and high-performance work systems experience, with application of Lean and/or TPM tools in a factory or operations environment
- Basic mechanical understanding to support holistic troubleshooting when needed
- Ability to manipulate and validate data in manual and automated systems; mastery of Excel and other data analytics tools
- Strong facilitation and communication skills to train operators, support CI discussions, and collaborate cross-functionally
- A creative, resourceful mindset - you find effective solutions even with constraints
- Structured and organized thinking to extract insights from data and sustain the DMS process
- Bonus: experience extending equipment life through smart automation upgrades and engineering strategies
