Position Title: Chiropractor
Department: Medical Department
Reports To: Medical Director/Clinic Director
POSITION SUMMARY
The Chiropractor will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating musculoskeletal conditions of patients. They will utilize chiropractic adjustments, manipulations, and other techniques to provide relief to patients experiencing pain or discomfort.
CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
• Consults with patients by reviewing health and medical histories; questioning, observing, and examining patients; and reviewing x-rays, as indicated.
• Evaluates patients’ neuromusculoskeletal systems and the spine using chiropractic diagnosis to determine neuromusculoskeletal and spine related conditions.
• Performs manual adjustments to the spine, or other articulations of the body, to correct the musculoskeletal system, where necessary.
• Educates patients on the quality-of-life benefits of routine chiropractic care.
• Provides a recommended course of treatment.
• Maintains accurate case histories of patients.
• Obtains and documents patients' medical histories, in EPIC.
• Arranges for diagnostic x-rays to be taken, when medically necessary.
• Analyzes x-rays to locate the sources of patients' difficulties and to rule out fractures or diseases as sources of problems.
• Maintains accurate and timely patient records.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• 4-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
• A Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from an accredited chiropractic college.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience of clinically relevant experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Valid Doctor of Chiropractic license in California.
• Fully eligible for malpractice insurance in California.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and chiropractic techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
