Purpose:
Oversee China tax related matters and provide tax advice in assisting Stryker’s business grow in China. Act as business partner to the FD of China and Suzhou. Ensure all business models are in compliance with local jurisdiction requirements together with Corporate policies, guidelines and deadlines.
Key responsibilities/duties:
Tax Advisory:
- Provide tax support for projects implementation;
- Develop and foster strong working relationships with BU colleagues and cross-functional departments including amongst others:
- Work with local finance team to ensure transactions are properly recorded;
- Work with local operation team to develop and maintain tax required documentation;
- Work with legal team to execute the transactions
- Identify and execute local tax subsidiary / tax relief opportunity in China to achieve tax saving and efficiency in China and support business growth;
- Provide tax advice to business model changes;
- Assist and provide tax support in business integration after acquisition;
- Executing the tax strategy designated by Corporate Tax Team;
- Provide tax advice on day to day business operation
Tax compliance
- Review of local tax returns and coordination with tax preparation service providers
- Oversight and support of local tax audits
Miscellaneous / Research:
- Constant review of applicable law changes by jurisdiction
- Assist in setting up process to improve tax governance
Key relationships / interfaces:
- Corporate Tax APAC team
- Finance teams in Stryker Beijing, Trauson and Suzhou
- External tax and finance professionals

Key skills & knowledge (technical):
Relevant Experience:
- +6 years of total tax experience with at least two primarily focused in the international tax area
- At least 2 – 3 years of MNC exposure and US international tax experience
- US GAAP accounting skills and FAS 109
- Big four tax service preferred

- Background in economics, familiarity with Hyperion Software
