The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) is a core member of the Wealth & Bermuda Executive Leadership Team. The role is accountable for shaping, translating, and executing enterprise strategy in a highly regulated, capital-intensive, and internationally connected environment.Role PurposeThe CSO serves as the CEO’s primary strategic partner and transformation orchestrator, ensuring that long-term strategic ambition is converted into near-term execution and sustainable value creation.
The role integrates strategy across capital, risk, technology, distribution, and operating model dimensions, while maintaining alignment with Group strategy and shareholder expectations.
This position is particularly critical given the complexity of High Net Worth (HNW) client economics and Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance operating models.
Key Accountabilities- Partner with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to define and continuously refine the Wealth strategy.
- Translate strategic priorities into executable transformation roadmaps with clear ownership, milestones, and outcomes.
- Own the strategic initiative portfolio, including prioritisation, governance, value tracking, and benefits realisation.
- Ensure strategic decisions are capital-efficient, regulator-ready, and operationally feasible.
- Provide structured, data-driven insights to support Executive Committee and Board-level decision making.
The CSO is responsible for shaping and executing strategies tailored to Wealth business models.
This includes close partnership with Finance, Risk, Actuarial, and Legal functions at Group & LBU level to balance growth, capital efficiency, and regulatory expectations.
- HNW and UHNW client propositions and economics

- Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, Group stakeholders, and Board members.
- Influence effectively across a matrixed organisation with multiple functional and geographic stakeholders.
- Build strong partnerships with Technology, Finance, Risk, Distribution, Product, and HR leaders.
- Drive alignment, pace, and accountability across complex change initiatives.

- Measurable improvements in growth, capital efficiency, and operating effectiveness

The successful candidate will bring deep experience in strategy and transformation within insurance, reinsurance, wealth, or other capital-intensive financial services environments.
They will combine strong strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability and credibility at CEO and Board level.
