About the Role: 

We are looking for a full-time Chief of staff to work with and support the CEO and President. This critically important role drive many key strategic business initiatives for Avive. The Chief of Staff will report directly to our CEO and will work closely with our President/COO and the full leadership team.

What You'll Do:

  • Work directly with Avive's Co-Founders (CEO and President/COO)
  • Lead high-priority strategic business initiatives, from idea through successful execution
  • Assist and communicate with Leadership Team to drive effective decision-making, program management, and metrics/measurement
  • Serve as liaison with Founders, Board of Directors and other key relationships
  • Act as a key facilitator between different teams, ensuring that all parties are communicating and working towards the same goals - be the person who knows most about how the company operates
  • Lead and manage the company's annual/quarterly/monthly planning process; Capture key notes and action items; Hold teams/departments accountable to their objectives + targets
  • Be a Meetings Master - Take control over the content and agendas for key internal meetings (e.g. All-Hands, Leadership Meetings, Monthly Reviews, etc.)
  • Support content creation, coordination, and preparation for company Board meetings
  • Manage calendars for both CEO and President/COO
  • Travel requirement: ~30%

Required Skills & Experience:

  • You're an analytical thinker and operational doer who will solely focus on the most critical organizational priorities. You'll report to the CEO, play an important role in executive leadership, and work as a cooperative partner across all functional departments
  • 3+ years of experience in a Chief of Staff or similar role
  • High EQ and comfortable influencing all levels of the organization; Demonstrated examples of successfully influencing without authority
  • Team-oriented professional with a commitment to driving both strategic and operational performance and improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - polished, professional, clear, concise, and compelling
  • Maniacal attention to detail
  • Stellar project management skills and experience
  • You're a true self-starter with a desire to learn, grow, and take ownership of business problems
  • BA/BS Degree required

Bonus Points For:

  • Med-Tech/Healthcare experience a plus

Despite tackling a massive and complex public health issue, which has had the same dismal survival rate of 10% for decades, Avive does so with optimism and fervor. Fueled by the words and experiences of those whose lives have been impacted or lost to SCA, the Avive team has simply refused to accept the status quo, working relentlessly to move the needle on survival rates.

Rory Beyer, Moseley Andrews, and Sameer Jafri came together with a seemingly simple idea – that anyone can and should be able to positively impact the outcome of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) rescue.

Drawn together by their complementary skills and background, they met at a conference focused on SCA prevention and quickly came to share a vision for the profound impact that a more effective solution could have on thousands of families every year.

With Rory and Moseley’s technical expertise and a novel AED concept they had developed at MIT, combined with Sameer’s experience in SCA prevention through his non-profit organization – Saving Hearts Foundation, the three co-founded Avive in 2017.
