About Mimecast
The work people build is worth protecting, and it's harder to protect than it used to be. AI agents now move at machine speed with human-level access, and a small slip-up can become a very public one. We disrupt cybercriminal activity before that happens. We think fast, go big, and always demand more of ourselves. We work hard, deliver, and repeat. We grow with real determination and put success well within reach. We push each other to be better and expect to be pushed back, in a community built on respect, where everyone is counted. Work Protected.
Overview
Sales is looking for a Chief of Staff, NA Sales to serve as a strategic partner and force multiplier for the SVP of Sales, driving the rhythm of the business, translating strategy into execution, and ensuring the sales organization runs with discipline and focus.
Operating as an extension of the SVP, Sales NA, to whom this position reports, you’ll combine ownership of the operating cadence with leadership of high-priority projects and direct contributions to go-to-market (GTM) strategy across Mimecast’s NA cybersecurity business. This is a high-visibility role with direct access to the SVP, regular exposure to the executive leadership team (ELT), and significant influence over how the division sells, grows, and scales. The position will be based in our Lexington, MA office with a hybrid work schedule.
What You'll Do
Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the SVP on strategic decisions, organizational design, resourcing, and priority trade-offs.
Prepare the SVP for board meetings, ELT reviews, quarterly business reviews, and all-hands by synthesizing data, framing decisions, anticipating questions, and developing clear executive narratives.
Represent the SVP in meetings when needed, triage competing demands, and protect their time while maintaining momentum and effective decision-making across the organization.
Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Finance, HR, and Revenue Operations leaders to shape and execute GTM strategy, including segmentation, territory design, coverage models, and pricing and packaging input for the NA Sales portfolio.
Lead the NA Sales organization’s contribution to annual and quarterly planning, including the annual operating plan, territory carving, quota setting, capacity planning, budget management, headcount planning, and hiring prioritization.
Stand up and operationalize new GTM motions—from channel and partner strategies to product launches and vertical plays—taking them from concept through field enablement and adoption.
Identify, prioritize, and lead a portfolio of strategic, cross-functional initiatives; define scope, milestones, and success measures, and hold workstream owners accountable for timely, high-quality execution.
Diagnose performance gaps across pipeline, conversion, attainment, and churn, translating root-cause analysis into concrete action plans with the sales leadership team.
Own the NA Sales operating rhythm in support of the Global Sales organization, including forecasts, pipeline oversight, large-deal reviews, monthly business reviews, QBRs, dashboards, KPI reporting, and executive updates.
Partner with the SVP’s leadership team to align priorities, remove cross-team friction, lead change management, and support recognition, engagement, organizational planning, promotion cycles, and talent reviews across a distributed sales organization.
What You'll Bring
Extensive experience operating with autonomy and broad organizational scope across strategy consulting, investment banking, sales or revenue operations, GTM strategy, Chief of Staff, or business operations roles.
Demonstrated ability to support and influence senior sales or revenue executives; experience in B2B SaaS or cybersecurity is a significant advantage.
A strong track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution and delivering measurable business impact.
Working knowledge of sales methodologies, pipeline and forecast management, and revenue operations concepts such as MEDDIC or MEDDPICC, ARR, NRR, and pipeline coverage ratios.
Executive presence and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to develop board-level narratives, advise senior leaders, and communicate credibly with frontline sellers.
Sharp analytical and financial acumen, including confidence building and interrogating models, dashboards, operating plans, and executive reporting.
High emotional intelligence and organizational savvy, with the ability to build trust and drive alignment across Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, and HR without formal authority.
A bias for action and structured problem-solving, with the ability to move fluidly between long-term strategy and hands-on execution in an ambiguous, fast-changing environment.
Discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential and sensitive information, including organizational changes, performance matters, and M&A-adjacent topics.
