Job Summary:

We’re searching for a highly qualified Chief of Staff to work closely with the IPH Leadership Team and navigate a matrixed organization. From day one, the chief of staff will have an immediate impact on our productivity, streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and communicating objectives across the organization. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a business management role, with a special focus on executive-level advising and interdepartmental collaboration. This role will report to the CEO of Independence Pet Holdings.

Job Location: New York City, NY - hybrid available

Compensation: $175,000 - $215,000 plus Annual Bonus

Responsibilities: 

  • IPH leadership team support

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the IPH CEO and leadership team

  • Work with IPH leadership team to measure and report on-going progress re: key strategic initiatives, deliverables, and action items to ensure strategic alignment and provide for continuous improvements

  • Lead and facilitate the IPH Executive Committee bi-monthly business reviews and Executive Committee meetings

  • Lead and facilitate quarterly IPH Board preparations and associated committee preparations as needed

  • Represent the IPH CEO as directed and acts as liaison between the CEO and other executives, clients and stakeholders to ensure consistent communication and ensuring involvement or decision-making at the proper time

Execution alignment and enablement

  • Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership

  • Assist and communicate with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation

  • Provide support to the leaders through the execution of strategic priorities.

Strategic development and planning

  • Partner with business leaders to develop a multi-year strategy which aligns with organizational goals and financial expectation

  • Partner with Finance to establish strategic scorecards to measure operational success relative to expected best-in-class results

  • Provide Strategic guidance, support and thought leadership across the

  • Lead strategic goal deployment process for IPH, partnering with each leader to cascade annual goals in their organization from top to bottom

Project management

Plan, direct and execute large-scale initiatives and special projects as needed

Communications

Partner with communications team and EAs to plan CEO communications events such as quarterly all hands, extended leader meetings, etc.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Master’s degree preferred

  • 10+ years in a business or executive management role

  • Proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments

  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form

  • Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity

  • Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives

  • Experience with budget management

  • Consulting experience with a focus on operations management

  • Proven success in a project coordination role

  • Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions

  • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on team cohesiveness and communication

  • Insurance industry experience a plus

Other:

  • Some domestic (US) travel is required, and some international travel (CAN, UK, EU) is anticipated.
