Digital Business Platforms (DBP) Chief of Staff @ Autodesk

Autodesk's Digital Business Platforms (DBP) organization, is seeking a highly strategic, consultative, analytical, organized, and motivated individual to act as Chief of Staff for the company's VP of Digital Business Platforms and partner closely with the DBP senior leadership team; acting as an enabler for strategic initiatives, org wide operations and ensuring execution of key priorities. The DBP organization is responsible for digital transformation of our offer, order, pricing, financial and reporting systems, and processes for the corporation. We are driving transformative change that will impact how Autodesk does business for years to come. You will be charged with building alignment on strategic initiatives with the DBP senior leadership team and broader organization to include planning, communicating, and operationalizing strategic activities for DBP.

Position Overview
As a strategic partner, you will define and manage the rhythm of the organization as well as coordinate quarterly business objectives & key results. This role is a pivotal player requiring influence, initiative, creativity, and resolve to ensure the team is well positioned to execute. You will also handle all program management responsibilities for special projects or events, driving both the strategy and execution.

Communications play a vital role in cascading our vision and you will actively lead internal communications efforts for the VP of Digital Business Platforms. The right candidate will bring strategic thinking, communications expertise, intellectual curiosity, energy, and creativity to help create and tell stories authentically to employees, stakeholders, and influencers through compelling speeches, presentations, and written communications.

Responsibilities

  • Distill and synthesize strategic discussions into discernible, executable plans: Enable rigorous discussion while providing the connection points between strategic ideas
  • Manage senior leadership meetings: Plan and facilitate senior leadership meetings and offsite, including formulating the topics to cover, building and advising agendas, guiding the discussion, bringing together notes and action items, and following up as appropriate
  • Act as an advisor to theDBP senior leadership team:Provide asoundingboard on matters of strategy, execution, operations,and structure
  • Can research novel ideas: Provide a sounding board for VP and can research ideas generated in conversation and crystalize into a POV or summarize alternatives. Able to quickly generate pitch deck to articulate POV for senior leadership and executives
  • Lead internal communications: Draft multi-channel communications materials including executive presentations, all hands, newsletters, and interactive video to help share our vision and progress. Maintain the communications calendar to ensure we execute against it
  • Lead special projects and programs that cut across the DBP organization: These projects include key objectives and business initiatives that impact the overall success of DBP, the division and the company at large
  • Coordinate annual strategy cycle: Ensure Strategic Intent and Strategic Realization process fully reflect the organization's vision, priorities, and constraints, in partnership with division COS to coordinate and ensure alignment
  • Track progress of all Autodesk corporate metrics including the Organization's Strategic Intent metrics and OKRs: Analyze a variety of business variables from both a strategic and operational point of view.Identify potential issues, recommend resolution, and prioritize and deploy initiatives
  • Think strategically to develop and execute an annual communications plan for the Digital Business Platform group, in collaboration with other teams in the division for both employee and stakeholder communications
  • Develop and deliver compelling organization-wide DBP meetings with a focus on original content and creating innovative ways to deliver information and news to our employees


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a fast-moving, high-tech business environment (preferably software); intechnical programmanagement,program management, management consulting, business operations, strategic planning or a similar functions
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Communications, Engineering, or related field
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative reasoning and strategic thinking skills
  • Proven track record of ensuring accountability and results; ability to steer leaders and constituents towards decisions
  • Strong business acumen, consultative skills, critical thinking, problem solving, facilitation, and organizational skills
  • Excellent relationship building, influencing, and communication skills with all levels of management and employees
  • Ability to influence a range of stakeholders while maintaining a balanced temperament and objective mindset, overall demonstration of leadership maturity and a strong executive presence
  • Proven record of seamless execution of complex projects with experience in software development processes and methodologies preferred (agile, scrum, etc)
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to judge situations accurately and quickly, grasping complexities, identifying key issues and applying sound judgment
  • Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity, and distilling to executable actions
  • Excellent writer, with the skills to distill complex content into clear, concise and engaging communications, and able to write with speed and accuracy
  • Strategic and creative thinker comfortable debating and defending her/his ideas
  • Strong storyteller with the ability to create compelling narratives and presentations in support of our business strategies
  • Able to be flexible, proactive, work under deadlines, and ensure quality and accuracy



Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA and/or graduate degree
  • 10+ years of experience in Strategy, Consulting, or Communications
  • Experience driving global and complex business transformations
  • Experience developing and executing communications strategies, plans, programs and events
  • Able to blend traditional internal communications tactics with new media, including enterprise collaboration and social platforms
  • Able to work collaboratively across multiple functions - including Engineering, Communications, Finance, Legal and HR

  • Has demonstrated the ability to quickly build trust, credibility, and rapport with people
  • Has served in a technical program management role, or a role requiring similar experiences and skills
  • Has a natural inclination for developing strong relationships and networks and is able to work well with different personality types and multiple levels in a dynamic environment
  • It is imperative that s/he is an excellent and persuasive communicator with exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills, and be a super-PowerPoint user
  • Has the ability to foster an atmosphere of collaboration and partnership across the organization
  • Is able to manage conversations, synthesizing multiple points of view, and aligning on direction all in an impartial and professional way
  • Is an energetic and detailed-oriented leader who can effectively manage and empower people to achieve results
  • Have a strong work ethic, a commitment to clear goals and measurable outcomes, an ability to learn quickly and work well in teams
