Job Summary:

The Chief Revenue Officer for Athletics reports directly to the Director of Athletics at the
University of San Francisco. This position leads all revenue-oriented initiatives for the athletic
department, including but not limited to, revenue generation, marketing, ticketing, community
and alumni engagement, and special events. This position will also support in generating revenue
opportunities for the institution.

Full Job Description:

Revenue Generation:

1. Oversee the development and growth of multimedia right agreements and corporate

partnerships, with responsibility for all aspects of the identification, solicitation, and

stewardship external partners.

2. Lead the creation and execution of department marketing and promotional initiatives, in

conjunction with the Chief Communications Officer, with an emphasis on improving

exposure, enhancing brand positioning, and increasing ticket sales and corporate

partnerships.

3. Develop and manage the annual marketing calendar including game and ticket

promotions and special events.

4. Supervise all staff members associated with revenue generation, including but not limited

to, ticket sales and corporate partnerships.

5. In partnership with the Chief Communications Officer, develop and implement

departmentwide policies and procedures regarding external communications to improve

efficiencies and ensure Athletics is on target to make and/or exceed all revenue goals.

6. Oversee the revenue generation initiatives associated with event broadcasts.

7. Partner with campus colleagues on identifying and executing new revenue programs.

NIL

1. Led the generation of NIL opportunities for student-athletes with external entities.

2. Coordinate the promotion of student-athletes for external NIL activities in conjunction

with the Chief Communications Officer.

3. Oversee the successful execution and submission of NIL activities with external entities.

Community Relations and Alumni Engagement:

1. Work in conjunction with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations to establish

relationships and reconnect alumni back to the USF campus.

2. Develop relationships as a liaison between the Office of Development (including Athletic

Development) and the athletic department; especially as it relates to revenue generation.

3. Create strategic initiatives where the USF athletic teams could provide community

engagement in San Francisco neighborhoods.

4. Collaborate with the Director of Athletics to ensure Athletics is making revenue

generation goals in this area.

5. Oversee Hall of Fame, Athletics Alumni Organization, and Dons Honor Club

organizations.

Special Events:

1. Oversee all operations related to department special events including but not limited to

the Swanson Golf Tournament, Hall of Fame, Hilltop Awards, Basketball Tip-Off

Dinner, and Baseball Lead-Off Dinner to maximize efficiency, revenue, and exposure for

the department.

2. Coordinate and manage appropriate staff to assist with the planning and operations of all

special events (including full-time and student staff).

3. Develop and manage budgets (revenues and expenses) for special events.

4. Leverage special events to generate revenue for the department.

5. Oversee that university cash handling policies and procedures are followed in collecting

revenue at events.

Special Projects:

1. Represent the Athletic Department on the development, marketing, and revenue-

generation aspects of all facility projects.

2. Will be responsible for marketing and providing information to the community and USF

faculty, staff, and students on Athletics projects.

3. Liaison with the Facilities Management office to manage schedules, projects and

communication for facilities projects which will generate revenue for the department.

4. Manage all communications and marketing of progress of facilities projects to increase

exposure and awareness of the athletic department.

University Liaison:

1. Work to develop relationships with individual campus departments to ensure adequate

communication between the Athletic Department and the University.

2. This includes but not limited to Koret, Student Life, Facilities Management, and the

Office of Development as it relates to department and/or university revenue.

Other responsibilities as assigned, including opportunity for sport administration.

Requirements:

 Bachelor’s degree required

 Masters’ preferred.

 8+ years of experience in revenue generation and marketing initiatives within sports

organizations.

 Knowledge of name, image, and likeness best practices.

 Experience with financial management in an athletic setting.

 Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written skills.

 Knowledge of the mission and goals of the Athletic Department and the University of

San Francisco.

 Knowledge of NCAA and WCC rules and regulations, and the application of those to all

situations.

 Ability to assist and supervise staff in situations that may involve rules violations.

 Ability to supervise and evaluate staff.

 Growth-oriented and self-motivated, and able to achieve goals working autonomously

Salary

Salary Range :

$176,821-$316,451 annualized; commensurate with experience.
