We’re looking for a Chief Architect to lead accessiBe’s technical direction, architecture, and innovation efforts. This is a high-impact leadership position where you will bridge business goals with technical vision, define and drive our technical roadmap, and mentor engineering teams across the organization.

As Chief Architect, you will set the bar for engineering excellence, lead major architecture and system design initiatives, and ensure our platforms are robust, scalable, and aligned with product strategy.

What You’ll Do

• Bridge Business & Technology: Translate product and company goals into technical strategies and architectural plans
• Foster the Technical Roadmap: Define, align, and evolve our long-term technology strategy across products and platforms
• Drive System Design: Lead architecture reviews and design scalable, secure, high-performance systems
• Raise the Standards: Define and enforce engineering best practices, code quality, and technical decision-making frameworks
• Mentor & Coach: Work closely with engineering leads and senior developers to grow technical capabilities across teams
• Evaluate Technologies: Stay ahead of industry trends and guide adoption of new tools, frameworks, and practices
• Collaborate Cross-functionally: Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, and Executive teams to ensure alignment and execution

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience (10+ years) in software development, including  at least 3+ years serving as a team lead or architect in complex, high-scale system
• (This role is not purely strategic — we expect you to stay close to the code and lead by example)
• Proven experience in designing distributed, scalable, and secure systems in a high-growth SaaS or product company
• Working experience with Generative AI technologies — applying LLMs, embedding models, or building AI-driven product feature
• Exceptional communication skills — able to articulate complex technical ideas to both engineers and business stakeholders
• Strong track record of mentoring developers, improving processes, and enforcing high standards
• Experience with cloud-native architecture (AWS/GCP), microservices, APIs, and modern CI/CD
• Deep understanding of system performance, scalability, security, and maintainability
• A collaborative leader who thrives on working across teams and disciplines
• Strategic thinker who balances long-term vision with practical execution
• Experience in accessibility tech, compliance, or developer tools - advantage
• Prior role as a Chief Architect or similar in a scale-up or high-complexity environment - advantage
