Lead and supervise daily accounting operations, maintain internal controls, prepare month-end journal entries and reconciliations, support forecasting and budgeting, respond to managerial queries with financial reports, and liaise with the Financial Controller to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for following and understanding all Kempinski Policies & Procedures.
- Responsible for understanding and having a working knowledge of all areas in accounting and being able to assist or cover a position if needed.
- Responsible for assisting in maintaining the internal controls in all areas.
- Responsible for ensuring that the accounting staff understands all their duties as well as Policies & Procedures.
- Responsible in assisting during the month-end closing preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Responsible for assisting other managers with arising queries as well as providing them with reports needed for the operation.
- Responsible for assisting with forecasting and budgeting.
- Responsible for communicating with the Financial controller on any discrepancies or other potential problems.
Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Kenyan citizen
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- CPA-K
- Minimum of 3 years in in a similar position preferably in a 5* hotel chain.
- Mastery of preparing accurate balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow statements
- Proficiency in local corporate tax laws, payroll compliance, and statutory filings.
- Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment.
- Ability to handle high volumes of work with attention to detail.
- Computer literacy adapted to the field of training.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Applies a professional, confidential and ethical approach at all times.
