We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Saint Alphonsus Charge Capture team! 

As a Charge Capture Auditor, you are responsible for reviewing the medical record documentation to capture charges for revenue producing departments. This consists of verifying clinical documentation and charges for accuracy, reconciliation, error management, and audits. 

  

Our ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, a quick learner and is skilled at multi-tasking. They must be diligent when reviewing documentation and able to follow specific processes. This individual should be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 

  

POSITION DETAILS:   

This Full-Time REMOTE position with a schedule of Monday - Friday from 8:00AM - 5:00PM (or similar). One weekend shift per month is required (schedule flexed).  This position will primarily support the Observation Hospital Units.

  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • High School Diploma. 

  • 2-3 years of experience in hospital or medical office setting experience preferred. 

  • Basic Medical Terminology and Anatomy. Advanced classes in Medical Terminology and Anatomy preferred. 

  • Experience with charge capture, reconciliation, error management operations. 

  • Preferred knowledge of Chargemaster, CPT-4 /HCPCS/ ICD-9 coding certification preferred. 

  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.  

  • Maintains working knowledge of coding and billing regulations for all payors. Keeps current on regulatory updates to ensure charge capture accuracy. 

  • Performs daily reconciliation and error management operations, reviews various system reports to aid in overall charge accuracy. 

  • Proficient in outpatient and inpatient charge capture operations and coding. 

  • Comprehension of revenue cycle operations. 

  • Performs monthly documentation to charge audit(s). Audit results used for documentation improvement opportunities. Outcomes and findings reported to Revenue Liaison. 

  • Serves as a revenue lead contact for Health Information Management and Patient Accounting for charge discrepancies. Escalates reoccurring issues or trending to Revenue Liaison as needed. 

  • Aides in the development of new processes when necessary to improve accuracy charge capture and revenue efficiencies.
