About the role

 

As Chapter Lead for the Finnish and Norwegian UX team, you will be leading a friendly and talented group of UX Designers in placed in our offices in Espoo, Turku and Vækerø. In this role you will have the opportunity to balance leadership with hands-on design, also working in a cross-functional  delivery team. In your work team, you will be driving UX design processes including user research, prototyping, usability testing, and working with our design system, ensuring we deliver on our customer promise of being the most caring insurance company.

In your role as Chapter Lead, you will foster a collaborative and supportive environment where team members can turn for sparring, sharing, and continuous learning. Your leadership will focus on competence development and nurturing a culture of feedback, encouraging personal and professional growth. Your role includes conducting development dialogues, compensation reviews, and recruitment.
 

As you will lead a competence chapter in a scaled agile context, with UX Designers supporting different deliveries in the organization, you will work closely with various stakeholders to understand their needs and ensuring the right level of design support.

About the team

 

The Finnish and Norwegian UX Chapter is one out of five competence teams within the UX & Service Design unit you where you will be the direct manager of 9 UX Designers. In your role as Chapter Lead UX, you will report to the Head of UX & Service Design, and work closely with other design Chapter Leads. You'll be part of a broad, skilled, and friendly community of over 65 designers, researchers and accessibility specialists, that together design digital services and touchpoints for If customers, covering the entire customer journey—from learning about and purchasing insurance to onboarding, being insured, and helping customers recover from accidents or loss. Who are you?

We are looking for a dedicated leader with a strong foundation in UX Design and design thinking methodologies. Your focus is on promoting the well-being and development of your team, fostering a collaborative environment where they can thrive. You are passionate about people, committed to their professional growth, and create a culture that prioritizes sharing and collaboration. You bring a good portion of UX expertise and skills to the chapter and into your work team. You lead with empathy, understanding, and support—empowering others to grow and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

You also have:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in UX Design, with deep expertise in design thinking methodologies.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a focus on empowering and developing teams.
  • Formal education in Design, Psychology, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Skilled in working with Figma design libraries and experienced in implementing design systems.
  • Good understanding of accessibility principles and experience in designing inclusive, accessible user experiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute complex projects/design needs while ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders across functions and levels.
  • Understanding of business needs, with the ability to translate them into concrete requirements and effective design solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Finnish or Norwegian and English.
  • A passion for fostering a culture of well-being, professional development, and continuous learning.
