Job Description

The Channel Development Manager is responsible in developing channel strategies and the tactics for each of their retail environments based on shopper and trade expertise. Staying up to date with industry trends and identifying new opportunities for growth and expansion through the company's sales channels. Works closely with Channel Sales Head in the development of the Channel Strategies.

Responsibilities and Key Activities:

  1. Defining channel strategy and tactics by retail environment

  2. Develop Channel strategies & plan in line with company AOP objective and direction.

  3. Monitor channel performance and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  4. Identify and evaluate channel distribution potential, develop plan to maximize channel business opportunities.
  5. Define and execute Perfect Store (Picture of Success) in the given Channel/Customer focusing on assortment/distribution, shelf layout, position and promotions
  6. Ensure Channel/Customer Management, promotion pricing and in-store execution guideline compliance according to defined strategies/tactics by retail environment.
  7. Coordinating the planning and execution of channel and account activities and communicating plans to the relevant channel/account/geographic teams and Field Sales force on time and accurately.
  8. Periodically review key SKU/Range distribution, NOS, market share, trade spend & volume within The Channel
  9. Conducting pre- and post-analysis of channel/customer promotions, highlight result to define future more profitable plans & developing a library of performance history.
  10. Provide channel demand forecast phasing based on the market trend & channel activity.
  11. Coordinate Action Plans among stakeholders in cases of Stock Constrains, and/or tactical reasons, for the Category in the S&OP meetings.

Qualifications

  1. Candidate must possess at least bachelor’s degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in any field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in FMCG Commercial (trade marketing/shopper marketing, channel & category marketing) or Distributor management. Possess understanding of channel insights and proven analytical skills in data
  3. Preferred to have experience in business planning & implementation of Customer/Channel Business Plan & Project Management)
  4. Financial implication and awareness (P&L statement, supply chain reports etc)
  5. Independent & good team player, good communication skills with fluency of English
  6. Knowledge of information system tools (AC Nielsen & Kantar)

Skills Required
