Profile Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a technical designer or drafter, ideally within the commercial furniture, joinery, or interior fit-out industry.
  • High-level proficiency in CET software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or equivalent), with the ability to produce both 2D and 3D technical outputs.
  • Strong 3D visualization, rendering, and presentation skills to communicate design concepts effectively to both clients and internal teams.
  • Solid understanding of furniture manufacturing processes, materials, joinery techniques, and construction methods used in commercial applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address technical issues before production.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and external partners.

Core responsibilities:

  • Develop accurate technical drawings, 3D models, and design concepts for commercial furniture pieces, ensuring alignment with project requirements and client specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, product development, and project management teams to translate client needs into functional and aesthetic design solutions.
  • Produce detailed shop drawings, assembly guides, and production-ready documentation to support manufacturing and installation processes.
  • Revise and refine designs based on feedback from clients, stakeholders, and manufacturing partners, balancing design intent with technical feasibility.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and internal company quality guidelines.
  • Provide technical support during prototyping, testing, and production stages to resolve design or construction challenges.
  • Liaise with suppliers and fabricators to verify materials, finishes, hardware, and construction methods are suitable for each project.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date design files, documentation, and version control to ensure accuracy and consistency across projects.
