Job Description

Technical specialist with an understanding of manufacturing environments and third-party product safety auditing who has the ability to analyse data creating management summaries and using this intelligence to drive forward our certification scheme and help develop connectivity within our IT platforms.

The Certification Integrity Technical Manager will support the Certification Integrity agenda and operations and take responsibility for the monitoring of the performance of BRCGS approved Certification Body who undertake site audits on our behalf.

Success in this role will utilise data analysis to improve our integrity measures to ensure Certification Body is operating at peak performance for our customers, proactively mitigating the risk of performance issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and continually improve systems to monitor and report Certification Body performance to ensure BRCGS audits are undertaken with integrity and consistency
  • With a focus on collaboration and support, drive improvement in Certification Body performance
  • Collaboration with IT and Technical departments in developing future online products e.g. performance assessment system, audit results, complaints, product recalls 
  • Audits of Certification Body activities
  • Management of BRCGS complaints & appeals system and responsibility for recall submission management
  • Assessment of correct identification of root cause and the effectiveness of corrective and preventive plans submitted to BRCGS. Signing off the action plans provided.
  • Support certification integrity team with any other activities as required
  • Liaise with the Technical team keeping them up to date with findings from integrity activities
  • Support overall business initiatives and improvements with the provision of certification integrity data


Qualifications

The person will have the following knowledge and attributes:

  • Degree in food or related bioscience
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience within the product manufacturing industry or within certification, accreditation or standards management
  • Practical experience of BRCGS or other GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) recognised schemes
  • The ability to analyse large quantities of data, identify trends and make conclusions as to further actions required. The ability to apply technical knowledge to interpret volumes of data. Excellent computer skills particularly with Microsoft Excel. The knowledge of Power BI will be an advantage
  • Technical knowledge and skills allowing for the assessment and performance of the root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action plans which are adequate to resolve findings.
  • Ability to capture information accurately and concisely. Prepare and analyse written reports to a high standard
  • Knowledge of the auditing sector and third-party certification and its role in the food and consumer product industry would be an advantage
  • Practical lead auditor experience and lead auditor training would be an advantage
  • Project management skills

  • Excellent IT skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, JotFroms
  • Freedom to travel nationally and internationally, as required by the business
