Details of the Division and Team:    

Reporting to Regional Head of Trade Finance and Lending Operations (TFL Ops), the incumbent will be responsible for managing the operations and control for all trade finance and loan products in Singapore and cluster head in the Asia countries.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Manage the Trade Finance and Lending Operation teams and processes on daily basis to ensure no lapses and support the Regional Head TFL Ops to achieve the overall business priorities and goals.

  • Oversee and take responsibility for transaction processing with outsourced operations teams, including supervision over processes of the outsourced functions that are in compliance to the service level. 

  • Work closely and in collaboration with internal stakeholders including offshore operations team, Product Management, Trade Service, Sale and Structurers in processing existing and new deals and initiatives for the Bank.

  • Ensure that the teams comply with all internal and external policies/guidelines and requirements of the regulators and to agreed SLAs, KRIs and/or KPIs.

  • Identify and escalate any operational, regulatory and any other potential inherent risks to be addressed and analyze for solutions.

  • Responsible to approve and certify transactions, controls and related operational functions based on the defined authority level.

  • Responsible for regulatory reporting, including any regulatory changes, and   accuracy and timelines are met.

  • Respond and address all regulatory and audit matters, hence there is requirement to be conversant with regulatory guidelines such as MAS 610, 626 and engage in internal/external audits, when required.

  • Manage contingency planning to ensure continuity and effective execution.

  • Ensure continuous process efficiency and performance improvement.

  • Lead projects and initiatives in the regional to warrant successful implementation.

  • Challenges and seeks alternative means to reduce cost & mitigate risk.

Your skills and experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in Trade Finance and Lending Operation, with at least a bachelor’s degree in business administration or relevant disciplines and fields.

  • Experience in trade finance and loan products, including the processes, documentation, due diligence checks, controls and payments.

  • Experience in managing teams with regional exposure, including projects and regulatory reporting.

  • Risk and control mindset with the ability to identify risk and implement robust controls.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including generating or ideate solutions through automation.

  • Proven organizational, multitasking and leadership skills.

  • Proficient communication skills, including managing audits.

  • Confident and enjoy working in a performance driven culture.

Role is required to be performed on-site at One Raffles Quay office. Relevant vaccination requirements may apply.
