Job Description Summary:
This role is responsible for delivering customer-focused, category-level analytics, emphasizing shelf leadership for Dollar General. This role supports the development of schematics and the overall strategy for space allocation and assortment.
Job Functional RequirementsInformation: Effectively manage and synthesize a variety of data sources, including scan data, syndicated resources, custom research, and store-level observations, to identify business trends and gain insights into results.
Interpretation: Use fact-based recommendations to uncover opportunities for both category and customer growth.
Influence: Lead discussions with customers regarding the strategic placement of Coca-Cola products and competitive beverage offerings.
Project Management: Collaborate with space managers, sales leads, and retail buyers to define project parameters.
Scorecard Development: Create and maintain scorecards to measure project progress, provide updates, and analyze results.
Primary Responsibilities- Develop schematics that adhere to the company’s merchandising standards, channel strategies, and align with customer objectives.
- Manage projects that may encompass the entire beverage section, include assortment across multiple manufacturers, and require cleansing, downloading scan data, and conducting complex space-to-sales analyses.
- Conduct ROI analyses to evaluate project value, communicate findings to project requesters, and prioritize high-value tasks.
- Perform sales calls independently, without the support of Sales leads or additional Category Managers.
- Lead customer conversations on the strategic placement of company products, confidently presenting recommended schematics, beverage performance, category growth opportunities, and availability points.
- Provide analyses and interpretation of internal and external databases, including Nielsen syndicated tools and other ad hoc resources, to understand critical business trends and performance (past and future). Identify emerging trends and develop hypotheses for performance interfaces, offering coherent solution recommendations.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses in response to identified business issues or needs.
- Manage customer-specific projects by working with space managers, category managers, sales leads, and customers to determine project parameters.
- Develop scorecards to track and measure projects, provide progress updates, analyze results, and conduct post-reset analyses.
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: 2–5 years of related work experience
Skills: Analytical experience is essential, with intermediate proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as PowerBI and/or Tableau.
