Summary
The Category Development Manager is responsible for developing an assigned Category. They are responsible for leading, growing and developing one (Sr) Category Analyst.
Key responsibilities
Category Vision:
- Develops Category Vision opportunities at assigned category level working with Customer Category team to ensure opportunities size of prize (RSV, Margin, NSV, CMM) are scoped at a customer level with input from Customer strategies. Where Cat Vision is yet implemented provide similar insights to develop category opportunities
- Provide category, consumer and shopper insight into the brand and customer plans during brand and channel planning processes ensuring relevant opportunities are supported and captured at assigned cluster/category Strategic Planning and AOP
Assortment
- Develops Category assortment opportunities on assigned Categories across ANZ including ranging, location, size, breakdown in key customers based on sales and profitability metrics. Reviews performance of category shopper metrics across key channels and customers and highlights opportunities and threats to be feed into the category/cluster strategic plan
Price Realization/PPA
- Develops analysis on assigned Cluster with RGM where we need to analyze brand pricing based on consumer/shopper trends to determine the final average price for brands (Avg Shelf and promo relative to key competitors and Private Label).
JBP & Range Support
- Supports Range Reviews in Key Customers across ANZ for assigned prioritized cluster categories
- Supports the development of Cluster AOP and Strategic Planning Process by ensuring all Category Opportunities are captured for assigned Cluster Categories over Short and Long Term
