Job Description

This Category Development Manager (m/f/d) role focuses on strategically scaling our Marketplace categories by leveraging deep industry expertise and targeted seller recruitment. 

The Marketplace Category Development Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for building and expanding assigned Marketplace categories by identifying, evaluating, and onboarding high‑potential sellers. Through strong market knowledge, data‑driven analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration, the role unlocks revenue potential and strengthens the Marketplace’s competitive position. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Expertise — Develop deep expertise in assigned categories, including brands, manufacturers, distributors, sellers, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Seller Identification — Identify and prioritize high‑potential sellers using market research, AI‑powered tools, and industry intelligence.
  • Seller Evaluation — Assess strategic fit, assortment quality, commercial potential, and operational capabilities.
  • Recruitment Collaboration — Partner with Account Managers to provide qualified seller opportunities and support recruitment prioritization.
  • Pipeline Management — Maintain a structured pipeline of category opportunities and seller leads in HubSpot.
  • Assortment Analysis — Analyze assortment coverage, product gaps, pricing competitiveness, and brand representation to identify growth opportunities.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Translate seller feedback into actionable recommendations for Product, Tech, and Customer Care teams.

Qualifications

  • Analytical Skills — Strong analytical and research capabilities to identify market trends and opportunities.
  • AI & Data Competence — Ability to leverage AI tools, data platforms, and analytical techniques (SQL, APIs, Power BI, Excel).
  • Automotive Knowledge — Good understanding of vehicle brands, product categories, and aftermarket ecosystems.
  • Marketplace Understanding — Solid knowledge of marketplace business models and seller operations.
  • CRM Management — Strong organizational skills and CRM management experience (HubSpot).
  • Data‑Driven Mindset — Ability to translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management — Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English (minimum C1 level)
