Catastrophe Modelling Analyst

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Catastrophe Modelling team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in Prague. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. Join us to help our clients manage the financial impacts of extreme natural disasters like hurricanes and earthquakes in the fascinating world of reinsurance.

We will count on you to:

• Analyse the impact of natural catastrophes on property portfolios of insurance companies.

• Process large datasets using both our internal and external software.

• Interpret modelled results to provide insights.

• Test and evaluate natural catastrophe models for accuracy and reliability.

• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues from other European teams.

What you need to have:

• A university degree in natural sciences, mathematics, data analytics, or a similar field.

• A background suitable for both recent graduates and experienced professionals.

• A willingness to learn and apply new methods, with good attention to detail and a proactive approach.

• Fluency in spoken and written English and a valid permit to work in the Czech Republic.

What makes you stand out:

• Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Basic knowledge of at least one coding language (SQL, R, Python) is an advantage

• Being organized, comfortable around numbers and possessing a strong team spirit.

• Previous experience in catastrophe modelling or related fields is a plus.
