Department Description
The Cash Management team is responsible for handling all cash events within the Funds. Day to day tasks include but are not limited to processing wires, cash reconciliation, maintaining bank accounts/relationships, actioning audit requests, collateral management, performing ongoing analysis to reduce cash drag, coordinating with administrators and trustees, and assisting in liquidity analysis to ensure the Funds have sufficient cash on hand to cover all upcoming funding obligations. The Cash Management team interacts closely with the Deal Execution, FX Hedging, Fund Accounting, Fund Finance, Middle Office, Tax, Valuations, Luxembourg, and Deal teams.
Position Description PFS is seeking to recruit an Associate to join the Operations – Cash Management team based in Mumbai. The individual should be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. They should have the ability to meet strict deadlines, as well as work independently and as part of a team. A desire for a fast-paced environment is crucial.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Treasury operational tasks for the Funds including processing wires for investment fundings, transfers between legal entities within complex fund structures, and settling foreign exchange transactions, margin calls, and swaps
- Assist in liquidity management process to ensure Funds have sufficient cash to cover all upcoming funding needs
- Managing the opening, closing and maintenance of Fund bank accounts
- Oversee and in-charge of day-to-day cash reconciliations. Manage overseas team that assists in reconciliation process. Analyze complex/escalated cash breaks to determine how to clear
- Liaise with fund administrators, trustees, and auditors
- Ensuring continued focus on process improvement and increased automation of activities
- Assist with testing the implementation of new processes, technologies, and overall initiatives
- Lead special projects and ad hoc analysis
Candidate Profile
- Graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Finance or related fields; 2 – 4 years of experience
- Must have strong PC skills with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel
- Strong working knowledge of reconciliations
- Demonstrated ability to manage, organize, and implement various levels of projects (small to large, simple to complex)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to take ownership and responsibility
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to problem solve and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of cash management operations including custodial (fixed income products, loans, derivative and collateral transactions, FX trades, asset settlements) and cash management activities (SWIFT, wires, interpreting settlement instructions)
- Experience working with complex fund structures
- Ability to work independently with nominal supervision as well as in a collaborative, team environment
- Familiarity of FIS/SunGard VPM accounting a plus
- Familiarity of Indus Valley Partners’ products a plus
