Your opportunity 

 

As a Carer at Anglicare Sydney, you will provide high-quality, person-centered care that supports our residents to live with dignity and purpose. You will assist with daily tasks, attending to residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing. You will ensure the physical comfort and emotional health of our residents are met and help enhance their independence and quality of life. 

 

With kindness and understanding, you will:  

  • Provide personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and feeding 

  • Support residents with mobility, transfers and other physical assistance 

  • Provide companionship and emotional support 

  • Observe, monitor and accurately document residents’ care and progress 

  • Follow individual care plans and respond to residents’ needs and preferences 

  • Escalate changes in a resident’s condition to the Registered Nurse or appropriate leader 

  • Work collaboratively with nurses, allied health professionals and other care team members 

  • Maintain residents’ privacy, dignity, safety and independence 

 

What you’ll bring

What’s required: 

  •  A Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care or an equivalent qualification 

  • Minimum six months experience providing personal care in aged care or a similar healthcare environment 

  • Current NDIS workers screening check clearance. 

  • Experience using electronic care management or digital documentation systems 

  • Australian working rights appropriate to the position 

  • Availability to work[insert required shifts, employment type and roster requirements].  

 

 

What’s preferred: 

 

  • Experience working in residential aged care 

  • Experience supporting people living with dementia 

  • Experience completing progress notes and following individual care plans 

  • Experience working collaboratively with Registered Nurses and multidisciplinary care teams 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
