JOB SUMMARY
Data is one of the four pillars of excellence for Saint Louis University's Career Services. The Career Services Data Analyst oversees data collection and reporting efforts of SLU Career Services, along with the daily management of related databases, dashboards, and the Handshake job search platform.
Under general direction, the Career Services Data Analyst oversees various aspects of the job/internship database including employer approvals and event registration; initiates and facilitates outreach and training for faculty, staff, and students using job database and other on-line resources; maintains department website; develops and oversees marketing efforts; conducts surveys and analyzes results; prepares reports; initiates contacts with employers and students to promote usage of website and database. Implements and oversees all aspects of the jobs database, including training, marketing, and reporting functions; approves new employers in job database; oversees on-campus recruiting activities; creates overall strategy for marketing and updating the website and database; implements communication process with students, alumni, administration, and faculty/staff to promote awareness and usage of job database; initiates and facilitates outreach, surveys, and training to stakeholders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and maintain internal and public-facing interactive dashboards covering key data, such as: post-graduation outcomes, experiential learning, and student/alumni interactions within Career Services
Act as the liaison between Career Services and colleges / schools, administrative departments, and other campus stakeholders on shared data initiatives, including:
Creating customized internal reports by academic unit.
Integrating external department outcomes & experiential learning surveys and data into career services surveys and reporting methods.
Sharing graduate career outcome metrics for campus marketing and student recruitment efforts.
Supports data validation checks of student record data and reports any identified issues to the Registrar.
Act as the chief administrator of Handshake, troubleshooting profile issues, providing front line user support, distributing the First-Destination Survey (FDS), capturing Handshake engagement data, setting up fair & event check-in stations, and managing the Banner Handshake student record sync.
Work with SLU IT and the Registrar to identify optimal platforms and technical workflows to address Career Services’ data objectives.
Perform internal analyses of Career Services engagement levels by key student identifiers.
Work with campus partners to improve engagement with Career Services and using career related data.
Manage the collection and reporting of data for the Job Location and Development (JLD) Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with one (1) year of related experience or internship.
Work Schedule Expectations:
This position will require the individual to work in the office, with the potential to work a hybrid schedule, up to one day per week remote, upon completion of six (6) months of onsite training and familiarization with department work and operations in compliance with the requirements of the SLU Remote Staff Flexible Work Policy.
