What You’ll Do
As a Career Development Specialist, you’ll play a key role in providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid and supplemental in-cell assignments through cell-front instruction for eligible participants who are in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator. 


 Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Facilitating employability and life skills, administration and interpretation of assessments, and training to include the Compass 100 hybrid curriculum and Thinking for a Change. 
  • Providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid and supplemental in-cell assignments through cell-front instruction for eligible participants who are in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator. Providing facilitation of employability and life skills programs. Providing administration and interpretation of assessments.
  • Providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid through a small group setting to eligible participants who are not in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator and other programs as determined by the Department. Providing facilitation of pre-release connections with community providers and employers through face-to-face and technology-based interactions to include pre-release job search, recruitment, and placement activities.
  • Reporting monthly attendance, program enrollments and completions on the Department of Corrections approved format. Maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered.

 

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma, and Two (2) years of professional experience in the workforce development, social services or corrections field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.

Bonus points if you have:

  • An Associate’s Degree and one year of experience in the social services or corrections field.
