The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is charged with implementing the state's public school laws for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public schools at the direction of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Board of Education.
Description of Work

The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership to local PSU Directors, administrators, CDCs, teachers, and other personnel so they may
advocate for CTE and CTE programs through career development and work-based learning opportunities. The Education Consultant focuses on career-oriented curriculum acquisition, assessment consideration and CTSO alignment, while providing technical assistance, professional development, and collaboration among stakeholders inside and outside the agency. A key component of responsibility is to be continually accountable for the status of identifying student career goals and aligned work-based learning opportunities to ensure continued growth of the program. Provide visionary support through establishment of programs that support early recognition of specific career goals for all learners, focusing on work-based learning opportunities that will provide a realistic experience in a specific industry, hands-on skill acquisition, and improved post-secondary employment opportunities through multiple work-based portals.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage and monitor Career Development and Work-based learning programs to ensure programs are implemented with fidelity.
Analyze data, information, or feedback from post-assessments, credentials, and multiple sources to improve career development and work-based learning programs.
Identify major trends and emerging issues impacting public schools as it relates to delivery of the CTE Brand Promise.
Analyze enrollment trends, curriculum material, and assessment performance of existing courses to determine potential revision and necessary professional development.
Identify professional development opportunities through gathering appropriate data.
Plan, coordinate, and/or conduct industry-aligned and research-based professional development opportunities for various individuals and stakeholder groups.
Driver License Required.

Recruitment Range: $63,927.00 - $88,143.00
Manager Preferences:

Primary Purpose of the Office of Career and Technical Education:
Office of Career and Technical Education is to provide state-level oversight, technical assistance, and leadership to all Public School Units (PSUs) for the improvement of secondary education programs and for planning, implementing, and monitoring of state and federally funded Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and services. Services provided include analyzing and interpreting state and federal laws regulating state policies. This position focuses on curriculum acquisition, assessment acquisition, professional development, collaboration with CTSOs, and work-based learning.
Minimum Education and Experience
