Job Description

We are looking for a Cards API Senior Specialist to own the operational health, scale, and performance of our Wise Platform partner’s card programs. In this role, you will be the operational backbone for our card issuance, bridging the gap between technical infrastructure and partner success. You will manage post-launch business-as-usual operations, monitor critical program health metrics, troubleshoot incidents, and drive automation to help our card issuance programs scale efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain operational SLAs from card issuance, disputes and schemes reporting

  • Build out operational guides for managing Cards API physical card programs

  • Own and drive conversations with external vendors relating to Cards API program launches and remove operational bottlenecks and enhance partner experience

  • Continuously identify manual workstreams required to service partners to drive automation rate and reduce operational load

  • Assist CS teams when escalations are made with regards to Cards API operational issues (delivery, disputes, declines, etc.)

  • Own invoicing process with Finance, internal operational teams, and external vendors

  • Generate ad-hoc operational reports for Cards API partners when needed (audit requests, stock count requests, etc.)

  • Manage disputes & chargeback requests as well as escalations from partners/internal teams

  • Data gathering and input for quarterly and monthly operational reporting

  • Ensure workstreams and dependencies from other Spend Ops teams (e.g., Issuance, Billing, Settlement) are considered in BAU changes, incidents, and partner requests by coordinating handoffs and ownership boundaries.

  • Support Customer Success Manager and/or Account Managers of WP on partner’s queries

Qualifications

  • A highly independent operator who doesn’t wait for direction. You have a knack for proactively spotting system anomalies or operational bottlenecks and taking ownership to resolve them from start to finish.

  • 3-4+ years of experience in operations, technical account management, or product operations, specifically within the payments, fintech, or card issuance space.

  • You’re flexible with working hours - as you will work across timezones (in particular Singapore, Estonia)

  • Strong communication skills with a history of bridging the gap between external partners, commercial teams (Account Managers), and internal technical operations.

  • Proven track record of handling real-time incident response, managing escalations under pressure, and conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

  • You’re comfortable with feedback and being part of a team where ideas are shared and openness is valued.
