As a Captive Accounting Supervisor, you will primarily be responsible for supporting the Company’s ongoing growth by providing oversight and accounting assistance to our Captives business units and internal staff on an ongoing basis.
Your Impact:
- Responsible for understanding the general ledger activities of assigned offices, including but not limited to RMA and Oxford Captives business units
- Manage internal accounting staff and third-party resources posting transactional activity within Captives Units
- Ensure financial transactions are in alignment with US GAAP, the Company’s accounting policies procedures, and ASC 606 obligations
- Responsible for working with other accountants in the group to prepare and finalize month end and quarter end activities Captives business units
- Review monthly/quarterly variances to budget and assist in providing commentary to support the ledger
- Provide oversight of monthly reconciliations of Captive balance sheet accounts and balances are substantiated with appropriate documentation
- Provide oversight and review of internal producer and outside broker compensation
- Assist Tax department with gathering Captive related tax documentation, including 1099’s
- Develop recommendations to optimize controls and processes to detect inaccuracies and implement improvements
- Participate in goal and objecting setting for direct reports
- Participate in D365 conversion activities with direct responsibility for GL conversion entries
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Participate in Ad Hoc Projects as assigned
Successful Candidate will have:
- Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience
- Captive accounting experience
- Accounting degree required
- Public accounting experience a plus
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications, esp. Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel with ability to perform pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SumIF, IF Statements, and other formulas commonly used for research and reconciliations
- Exceptional organization and time management skills
- Self-starter, professional and assertive
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, challenging work environment

At Risk Strategies Company, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings, The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 - $100,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
