Key Responsibilities:
Execute trades (fixed income, equities, FX, derivatives) to achieve 25%+ net-positive returns vs. benchmarks.
Monitor positions, optimize pricing/timing, and manage risk exposure in alignment with risk frameworks.
Partner with Finance to align trading strategies with liquidity needs.
Treasury & Liquidity Management
Collaborate with the Finance team to design and implement cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and funding strategies.
Negotiate terms with banks and financial institutions to minimize costs and maximize returns.
Streamline treasury processes to enhance operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
Compliance, Risk & Regulatory Mastery
Ensure 100% adherence to Nigerian SEC, CBN, and international regulations across all trades and treasury activities.
Proactively identify and mitigate market, credit, and operational risks.
Collaborate with the Finance and Legal teams to ensure timely regulatory reporting and liaise with regulators and other intermediaries (e.g, NGX, FMDQ).
Strategy & Market Intelligence
Develop data-driven capital markets strategies (hedging, asset allocation, funding) to achieve 25%+ net-positive performance.
Monitor macroeconomic trends, competitor activity, and regulatory shifts to identify growth opportunities.
Deliver actionable insights to management through reports and presentations.
Performance & Results Accountability
Track KPIs such as ROI vs. benchmarks, liquidity coverage ratios, and trade settlement efficiency.
Publish transparent reports showcasing out performance against subscriber rates and market indices.
Requirements
7+ years of experience in Nigerian capital markets, with expertise in trading, treasury management, and SEC compliance.
Proven track record of delivering 25%+ returns above benchmarks in fixed income, FX, or derivatives.
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Finance, Economics, or related field; CFA, CISI, CIS or ACT certification required.
Mastery of Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Eikon, treasury management systems, and advanced Excel modeling.
Deep knowledge of Nigerian regulations (SEC, CBN) and global standards (MiFID II, Basel III).
Exceptional communication skills with fluency in translating complex data into strategic actions.
