The Opportunity

As a dedicated Capital Markets Analyst, you will perform moderately complex work assignments and problem resolution to optimize utilization of USAA's capital and liquidity by managing access to the external capital markets and leading efficient execution of capital market transactions and relationships for the areas of capital markets reinsurance (catastrophe bonds) and bank relationship management. This role will work closely with the Director, Capital Markets and senior members of the Capital Markets team to learn to be the primary person responsible for the catastrophe bond process (capital markets reinsurance) which includes working closely with internal and external stakeholders leveraging their relationship and project management skillsets to support efficient execution of new issuances and ongoing maintenance of outstanding issuances. This person will also be a key relationship contact for the external banks and numerous Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) firms and utilize project management and relationship management skills to assist senior team members with various deliverables for Rating Agencies and other types of debt issuances.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Acquires and applies maturing knowledge of the business, its products and processes to prepare and update offering documents, information memorandums, registration statements and disclosure materials and processes payments for moderately complex debt programs. May participate in planning new transactions.
  • Maintains, inventories, and services debt covenants and restrictions. Prepares contractual compliance reporting.
  • Resolves issues and identifies appropriate issues for escalation.
    Participates in price negotiation process for capital markets transactions.
  • Supports Senior and Lead analysts in efficient transaction execution through learning and project management.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 2 years of finance, treasury, capital management, or capital markets experience
  • Developing knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques to include relevant job-related technical knowledge.
  • Developing knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications.

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $61,110 - $116,800.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
