JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY


Canyon Services Representative will perform guest services for Indian Canyons, Tahquitz Canyon and the Visitor Center.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)


  • Handles front reception; greets incoming visitors, answers all incoming phone calls, and provides information regarding Indian, Tahquitz Canyons and ACBCI related businesses.
  • Monitor the vehicle entrance into canyons and perform other customer service functions such as the collection of admissions, selling of merchandise, and responding to guest inquiries.
  • Offers information and/or coupons on the various business entities of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians.  Sells discount tickets to the Indian Canyons.
  • Makes reservations for the Tahquitz Canyon interpretive hikes.
  • Keeps Visitor Center stocked with brochures and coupons.
  • Assist in daily clean-up of the Visitor Center.
  • Provides snack bar/food service. (Trading Post location only.)
  • Performs other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE


  • Minimum of High School Diploma, or GED.
  • One year experience in retail, customer service, or related field.
  • Must possess exceptional people skills, excellent customer skills, telephone skills, and the ability to deal with multiple guest personalities.
  • Ability to use 10 key calculator, cash register and minimal computer skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to sit, stand for up to 8 hour shift, walk, reach, talk, and hear.  The individual must be physically fit to be able to lift 30 lb. and work in temperatures of 90 degrees F. or higher.


Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment, but may occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.  The noise level in the working environment is usually moderate to quiet. 

Skills Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in retail, customer service, or a related field
  • Exceptional people skills and excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent telephone skills and ability to handle multiple guest personalities
  • Ability to use a 10-key calculator and cash register
  • Minimal computer skills
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear for shifts up to eight hours
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds and work in temperatures of 90 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
