Position Summary:

The Camp Partnerships Specialist plays a key support role in the success of camp programs by strengthening relationships, coordinating resources, and assisting camp leadership and program staff. This position focuses on collaboration, communication, and connection—helping ensure camp operations run smoothly while enhancing the partnership between Central Lincoln County & Boothbay YMCA's that support high-quality camper experiences.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working alongside staff, building relationships, and helping programs succeed through strong coordination and support.

Key Responsibilities:


Program & Staff Support

  • Serve as a support resource for camp program staff, assisting with logistics, communication, and day-to-day needs
  • Help orient staff to camp policies, procedures, and expectations
  • Support staff scheduling, coverage coordination, and program flow as needed
  • Act as a consistent point of contact between program staff and camp leadership 

Partnerships & Community Coordination

  • Assist with coordination of shared resources, transportation, and off-site experiences
  • Help communicate expectations and logistics to ensure smooth collaboration
  • Represent the YMCA professionally when interacting with families  

This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit to strengthen the community. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with the Senior Program Director to promote healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development. Serves as a role model for other staff and participants.
  • Collaborates with the Senior Program Director to create and execute behavioral programs, training sessions, and/or procedures that support the advancement of the YMCA while ensuring safety, licensing standard, HIPAA compliance, and the YMCAs reputation, and providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Partners with the Senior Program Director and staff to promote a positive culture around mental health, cultural humility, and behavioral management. Leads staff in proactively monitoring for behavioral trends and creates and implements individual plans where appropriate while adhering to all standards.
  • Reviews camper behavior logs and develops solutions to help those campers in need be successful in the camp environment/program.
  • Creates a camp culture of positive mental health, trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and behavior management. Monitors for behavior trends and supports counselors with facilitating special group topics as needed.
  • Creates individually tailored support plans for campers; in partnership with staff, coordinates actions, which may include teaching and practicing emotion regulation and distress tolerance skills.
  • Intervenes with campers when appropriate to prevent or resolve problems.
  • Builds effective, authentic relationships with staff, participants, and community partners and connects them to the YMCA. As directed, facilitate communication with families to provide updates and to problem solve any challenges.
  • Assists the Senior Program Director with staff and volunteers to ensure operations are safe and clean at all times.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, recognizes signs of abuse or neglect and reports to supervisor and the appropriate authorities.

  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • The employee will lift and/or move up to up to 60 pounds.

  • Work is performed at a community campus that serves all people. 
  • Work is occasionally stressful and requires ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and successfully cope with the pressures which are related to the position.
  • The campus facility is open early mornings, evenings, and weekends and the job may require attendance outside of regular business hours (9am – 5pm).
  • The noise level can be all volumes.

Essential Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a related field.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire. 
  • Team player, with superb interpersonal skills. An ability to work with co-workers and the public in a positive and friendly manner and resolve conflicts as needed.  
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, lead others, work independently, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment. 
  • General computer skills with the ability to effectively learn and use new software. 
  • Six hours of training in related fields such as behavioral management, child psychology or sociology.

Essential Education Requirements:

  • High School degree or GED, or the equivalent experience.
