Summary Statement: The Afternoon CAC Receptionist serves as a welcoming and professional presence for Calvary Day School guests while prioritizing the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors. The primary responsibility of this position is to monitor and maintain security throughout the athletic building and gym areas, while providing excellent customer service, assisting guests, and supporting the overall safety and security of the CDS campus.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Spiritual–The Afternoon CAC Receptionist shall:
- seek to be a role model in attitude, speech and actions with a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.
- show by example the importance of Scripture study, prayer, witnessing, and unity in Christian fellowship.
- follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration.
Essential Functions–
- Serve as the primary security and reception presence for the CAC/athletic area from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., maintaining a welcoming, professional, and secure environment for students, staff, families, and visitors.
- Monitor and control access to the athletic facilities, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter the building and designated areas.
- Greet and assist visitors entering through the CAC area, provide directions and information as needed, and ensure a positive first impression of Calvary Day School.
- Monitor individuals entering and exiting the athletic area and promptly report suspicious, unauthorized, or concerning activity to the appropriate school personnel.
- Maintain and regularly reference the list of individuals prohibited from accessing campus or athletic facilities and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Monitor security and surveillance cameras to help maintain a safe environment, identify potential security concerns, and assist with incident response and resolution.
- Manage incoming calls and efficiently direct them to the appropriate office or staff member while maintaining professional and courteous communication.
- Assist with communication and coordination with emergency personnel during emergencies or other situations requiring immediate assistance.
- Follow all school safety and security procedures and promptly communicate concerns, incidents, or potential threats to the appropriate administrators or personnel.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming environment throughout the gyms and CAC areas, as directed by the Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director.
- Assist with the setup, preparation, and breakdown of facilities and equipment for athletic events, games, practices, and other department activities.
- Provide support and assistance to coaches, athletic trainers, and other members of the Athletic Department as needed.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director.
- Report suspected child abuse, neglect, or maltreatment to the appropriate authorities as required by North Carolina law and school policy.
All expectations outlined in the Faculty & Staff Handbook and any supplemental handbooks must be adhered to per the handbook(s).
