INTRODUCTION:
The Climate Resilient Water Governance Activity in Pakistan is an anticipated $10-25M USAID-funded four-year project that aims to promote more resilient water governance and management systems in Pakistan to combat extreme weather events (floods and drought), exacerbated by climate change. Specifically, the activity plans to focus on improving community-led, cost-effective, and sustainable water systems in areas faced with flash floods/hill torrents across the country. This will be achieved by active participation of local communities and private sector for improvement/development of financially sustainable and/or market-oriented water management systems at a local scale.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Winrock International (WI) is currently seeking candidates for an anticipated USAID-funded Climate Resilient Water Governance Activity in Pakistan. The Activity is an anticipated $10-25M, four-year project that aims to promote more resilient water governance and management systems in Pakistan to combat extreme weather events (floods and drought), exacerbated by climate change. The focus of the activity will be on improving community-led, cost-effective, and sustainable water systems in areas faced with flash floods/hill torrents across Pakistan. This will be achieved by active participation of local communities and private sector for improvement/development of financially sustainable and/or market-oriented water management systems at a local scale.
Winrock International is currently seeking candidates with a background in:
- Civil, hydraulic, or environmental engineering
- Hydrology
- Hydrometeorology
- Flood risk modeling
- Water resource management
- Climate change
- Environmental policy
- Disaster risk management
- Private sector partnership and business development
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience.
- Proven communications and capacity strengthening skills.
The position is contingent upon receipt of donor funding.
