The CAE Development Engineer is responsible for supporting product design and development through computer-based design analysis activities. This role primarily consists of finite element-based structural analysis, loads determination, results analysis, correlation testing, along with data interpretation and report writing. Products are focused on electric vehicle drivelines and transmissions. This CAE role also includes developing and introducing new analytical techniques into engineering as needed to benefit product design and development.

The key responsibilities:

  • Finite element analysis and analytical calculations to support the Engineering problems in product design & development and production stages of automotive Power Electronics.
  • Support design validation & testing procedures and Root cause analysis for product failure using FEA.
  • Execute projects in structural FEA (static and dynamic), NVH analysis to support new/production programs.
  • Present analysis results summary in design release reviews
  • Support development and implementation of CAE group functional and technical capabilities; carry and manage CAE group internal initiatives.
  • Provide input/direction on product/component design improvement using FEA results. 
  • Participate and support in global COE activities.
  • Writing reports for summarizing the analysis results and reviewing all project-related analysis results for ensuring the accuracy of project reports.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • M.Tech / MS/PhD in Mech/Aero/Applied Mechanics from a reputed institution such as IIT/IISc/REC
  • 12 + yrs. of experience working with an automotive electronic/driveline components
  • Expertise in linear & Non-linear structural analysis, Dynamic and Impact analysis including fatigue calculations.
  • Experience in performing NVH analysis on Electronic systems
  • Experience in Die and PCB level modeling as well solder joint reliability is a plus
  • Expertise in Ansys Software suite
  • Basic knowledge of Electric vehicle transmission design
  • Good communication skills both oral/writing
