Job Description: 

Intel's Foundry Technology Manufacturing (FTM) is seeking a talented and motivated CAD/EDA Tools Automation Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and debug software tools, flows, and methodologies used in design automation and by cross-functional teams in the design of hardware products, process design, and manufacturing. You will play a critical role in enabling engineering productivity by building robust, scalable, and efficient automation solutions that support the full hardware design lifecycle. 
 
About the Role 

We are looking for a talented CAD/EDA Tools Automation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and debug software tools, workflows, and methodologies that power our design automation processes. Your work will directly support hardware product design, process design, and manufacturing teams. 

What You'll Do 

  • Gather and document user stories and technical requirements.
  • Write clean, efficient functional and test code. 
  • Automate build and deployment pipelines. 
  • Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing of software tools. 
  • Develop and maintain scalable workflows and design automation solutions. 

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Knowledge and/or experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Master's in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a STEM related field (degree must be completed by start date) 
  • 6+ months of experience with: 
    • Programming and scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or C++ 
    • Working in Linux environments 
    • Version control systems and EDA tools 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a STEM related field   
  • Hands-on experience implementing solutions using Large Language Models. 
  • 12+ months of experience with: 
    • Industry-standard EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys ICV, or Siemens Calibre for physical design, place and route scripting, and DRC verification 
    • Building job management tools on distributed computing systems 
    • Process automation using workflows, templates, and standardized methodologies 
    • CAD software administration and deployment

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $111,030.00-211,200.00 USD

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Work Model for this Role
