Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical and system designs using advanced CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative projects across construction, manufacturing, and system design sectors, utilizing a broad range of technical skills and software expertise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBLITIES
- Develop precise 2D and 3D CAD models, schematics, and technical drawings for mechanical systems and assemblies.
- Utilize software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, to produce detailed designs.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure accurate manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Interpret engineering specifications, AASHTO & AREMA codes, ASTM standards, and client requirements to produce compliant designs.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to refine system designs and resolve technical challenges.
- Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulations to validate design integrity under operational conditions.
- Prepare technical documentation including assembly instructions, technical writing, and system schematics.
- Support construction and manufacturing teams by providing detailed drawings and technical guidance.
- Maintain version control of CAD files and ensure adherence to drafting standards throughout the project lifecycle.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree or bachelor's degree (preferred)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, Pro/ENGINEER.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, system design, and mechanical design processes.
- Experience with GD&T standards and AASHTO & AREMA codes, ASTM standards for mechanical components.
- Familiarity with PDF markup and document management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data management and BOM configuration
- Ability to perform FEA analysis and interpret results for structural integrity assessments.
- Skilled in drafting technical schematics, assembly drawings, and 2D animations for presentations or instructional purposes.
- Excellent understanding of construction processes related to mechanical systems.
- Strong technical writing skills for creating clear documentation and specifications.
- Knowledge of schematics creation and interpretation for complex mechanical systems. This position is ideal for candidates passionate about innovative design solutions in a collaborative environment that values precision, technical expertise, and continuous learning.

The approximate pay range for this position is $28 - $34 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
