You will be responsible for:
- Providing client accounting and advisory services for clients in various industries ranging in size from $5M to $100M. Projects might include but not be limited to financial accounting, cost accounting, financial projections, establishing or evaluating internal controls, and evaluating accounting processes.
- Understanding client objectives and maximizing the value of the service we provide with respect to attaining those objectives.
- Collaboration with staff, seniors, and managers within CAAS to meet client deliverables on projects
- Assist in coaching, developing and training staff and seniors
- Manage client projects, workloads, and deliverables across numerous engagements, communicating priority items and status internally and externally
- Providing supervision and on-the-job training to staff assigned to engagement, or client’s internal staff
- Preparing other reports and projects as requested from time to time by PPMD’s
- Preparing or reviewing financial statements, notes, schedules, and memos for discussion between partner and the client, or for discussion between yourself and the client.
- Comfortably communicating with and serve as liaison in client engagements with client’s banker, Board, insurance agent, or other key business partners
- Communicating engagement's progress, problems, resolutions, financial information, and other business concerns to the client
- Building relationships with, and speaking to, client personnel to obtain an understanding of their business operations, processes, and functions.
- Primarily remote working, with flexibility on hours and schedules
- Occasional travel to client sites, industry events, and to in person meetings at GHJ LA Office
- Such other duties as may be assigned
What we need from you:

- Ability to effectively manage client engagement, and to bring a strong point of view to the work
- Creative problem solver with a high level of strategic, analytical, and conceptual skills with a passion for helping clients
- Person of sound judgment, that can manage risks effectively and efficiently.
- Deep understanding of cash, accrual, and full GAAP basis of accounting
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting
What skills & experience you’ll bring to us:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or similar related field with a desire to build practical experience in an advisory arena
- CPA certification or pursuit of CPA or equivalent preferred, but not required
- 7+ years of accounting/assurance/client accounting experience, with a professional services firm
- Experience managing and developing a team
- Understanding of the client service industry, typical go-to-market strategies, cost structures, and key business partners
- High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including experience working with and reconciling trial balances, and experience with pivot tables, lookup formulas, index/match formulas, etc. and writing up details of company’s operations, performance drivers and trends
- Experience with working on multiple engagements, and ability to prioritize and/or adjust priorities to accommodate and adopt to changes, as necessary
- Plans and presents well-organized work product
- Excellent project execution skills and client deliverable experience
