About this opportunity
Our Product Engineering Unit, Compute & Cloud Infrastructure, is one of the main R&D units within Ericsson's Radio Access Network (RAN) domain. The unit is responsible for Ericsson products, including Baseband, Street Macro, and Site Solutions, covering both software and hardware throughout their entire lifecycle.
We are currently looking for a Software Developer C++ to join our team in Kraków, Poland.
The team is responsible for the development and maintenance of software that controls and supervises radio base station functionality, including Power System Control, Cabinet and Climate Control, and External Alarm Handling within the Radio Access Network (RAN).
Our products are developed in modern C++. We use frameworks and tools such as Protocol Buffers (Protobuf) and GoogleTest, while higher-level testing is automated using Erlang and Java.
You will• Develop software in C++ for telecommunication systems• Perform Unit testing in Google Test framework• Integrate testing in Java and Erlang• Test manually on real hardware• Perform trouble shooting• Work in Agile framework (Scrum or Kanban)• Create technical documentation for introduced software• Driving team's activities with product responsibility• Performing continuous analysis and requirement handling• Contribute to new features from the study phase• Developing competence in technical domain• Use AI-assisted development tools to support coding, testing, troubleshooting, improvement, and knowledge sharing.
To be successful in the role you must have• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Science (e.g Computer Science, Telecommunication) ) or equivalent formal technical education• At least 3 year of experience in C++ programming (C++17 standard or higher preferred)• Experience in creating software architectures, redesign and refactoring, competent in design patterns• Testing skills• Analytical thinking skills and ability to learn quickly• Good communication and team working skills• Good communication in English
Good to have• Experience with debugging: GDB, sanitizers, valgrind• Low level communication protocols knowledge (Modbus etc.)• Basic Java knowledge• Basic Python knowledge
Role is based in Krakow, Poland, hybrid, min. 3 days from office is required.
