Position Overview

The Buyer is responsible for executing end-to-end procurement activities including requisition approvals, vendor selection, contract management, and commercial negotiations. This role involves floating RFQs/RFPs, analyzing rate cards, managing REQ-PO cycles, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and statutory regulations. The Buyer collaborates with cross-functional teams to support operational needs, maintain accurate reporting on contracts and purchases, and drive cost optimization. Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and stakeholder management are essential for success in this role.

• Review and approve purchase requisitions (REQ) in alignment with budget and policy.

• Convert approved requisitions into Purchase Orders (PO) and ensure timely issuance.

• Float RFQs (Request for Quotations) and RFPs (Request for Proposals) to qualified vendors.

• Conduct rate card analysis to benchmark pricing and optimize cost.

• Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts ensuring legal and commercial compliance.

• Negotiate commercial terms including payment schedules, delivery timelines, and penalties.

• Maintain contract repository and ensure timely renewals and amendments.

• Generate and analyze reports on REQ-PO cycle time, contract status, and vendor performance.

• Track savings, cost avoidance, and procurement KPIs.

• Present procurement dashboards to management for strategic decision-making.

• Ensure adherence to internal procurement policies and statutory regulations (e.g., GST, MSME norms).

• Support internal and external audits with documentation and process transparency.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Legal, Operations, and IT.

• Participate in procurement planning and budgeting exercises.

• Support team initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
