How You’ll Add Value

The Buyer has the primary responsibility for purchasing components and maintaining an open line of communication from a variety of suppliers.  Our buyers work with various departments within Azenta.  This position communicates daily with the lab managers regarding all supply, our accounting department on costing/invoicing concerns and our our quality department. Our buyers are continually working with our suppliers to improve supplier on-time delivery and lead-time reductions.  The buyers also work to continually improve raw good turns and look for cost reduction opportunities.

What You’ll Do

• Support Production expense purchases for all commodities
• PO placement
• Will work closely with the other Buyers in the team
• Review open orders – expedite when required
• Updating ALS and part attribute as required
• Attending and participating in daily meetings
• Reviewing open order reports/ update promise dates to align with supplier commitments
• Tracking and reporting shortages
• Resolving delivery queries

What You Will Bring

• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Purchasing/Buyer role
• Prior MRP Experience
• Proven or demonstrable negotiation skills
• Proficiency working with numbers
• MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Outstanding communication and analytical skills
• Able to work within a schedule driven environment. Timing and a sense of urgency is a critical function of this role
• Experience working with shifting priorities and moving deadlines
• Oracle, EBS or Cloud, experience a plus
