We are looking for a skilled Buyer who can bring his/her purchasing experience and expertise to ensure assigned commodities are purchased at competitive costs, acceptable quality, and delivered in a timely manner. Having previous Genome Engineering/Biotech purchasing experience is preferred. This role is responsible for all activities pertaining to the purchase of these assigned commodities to support Synthego’s day-to-day operations and growth.
What You'll Do:
- Manage all aspects of purchases from requisition to delivery including but not limited to issuing/maintaining purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and reconciling invoicing/delivery issues
- Drive suppliers to deliver on time to prevent supply interruptions
- Actively identify, drive, and report cost savings
- Contribute to the overall cost savings goals
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, acting as an interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Develop and qualify multiple sources/alternative parts for applicable commodities
- Drive contract negotiations and closure with applicable suppliers
- Maintain Purchasing and ERP’s data integrity (e.g., close purchase orders, update pricing, etc.)
- Contribute to system/process improvements
- Other tasks/projects as assigned
About You:
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in Procurement/Sourcing
- Ability to effectively manage day to day purchasing activities with attention to details, able to prioritize conflicting tasks, and deliver according to schedules
- Ability to analyze data, summarize findings, and present proposals
- Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make adjustments as needed
- MUST have NetSuite experience, and having experience with Clear Spider/Quartzy is a PLUS
- Experience with Microsoft Excel including VLOOKUP and Pivot tables functions
- Experience supporting multiple departments (Ops, IT, Facilities, Engineering, R&D, Accounting, Marketing, etc.)
