Bachman’s Farm is looking to hire a Tree Buyer to oversee the nursery merchandising program across all channels of the company. The position is in need of someone who has excellent knowledge of landscape green and nursery products.

Job Responsibilities:
- Develop assortment plans by channel to include product selection from internal production and outside vendors that align with the corporate strategy and financial goals of the nursery departments.
- Execute assortment plans by channel to include: product purchasing, product quantity, stock levels, replenishment, special orders, retail pricing, delivery timetables and warehouse considerations.
- Sku creation and sku management for all nursery departments.
- Lead the development of assortment plans - product selection, order, and pricing.
- Ensure inventory best practices and accurate inventory reporting for nursery products.
- Provide creative innovation on new products, product uses and promotions to ensure great style and trend in annual and perennial products.
- Work closely with vendors and transportation companies
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, business, marketing or related field
- 2-5 years of procurement, store operations or retail distribution experience
- 2 years supervisory experience
- Demonstrated development and execution of purchasing plans & assortment plans based upon financials, historical information, consumer trends, and marketing instincts within a budget
- Knowledge of landscape green and nursery products
- Highly proficient in computer skills
- MNLA certification
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday – 45 Hours per week, more hours needed during peak weeks
- May require occasional overnight travel during the year

Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 salary
