The Business Technology Manager utilizes technical experience, business acumen, delivery and leadership skills to lead a team in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining a set of interrelated technology applications meeting the technology and operational objectives of a line of business or function.
This is a delivery‑focused, hands‑on role within Enterprise Data and Information Services (EDIS), responsible for leading and coordinating data operations initiatives across KeyBank’s Data Supply Chain (DSC).
Essential Functions
- Technology Leadership
- Manages a technology portfolio generally aligned to a single or smaller domain.
- Utilize technology experience, business acumen, delivery and leadership skills to develop and grow partnerships with senior line of business/functional leaders that enable the team to prioritize technology investments and set/ receive direction to meet the business' or function's technology needs, while aligning to the enterprise's architectural standards.
- Manage the 24/7 production support of applications including vulnerability remediation and risk management to corporate SLAs.
- Manage, develop and ensure the engagement and effective execution of a small to medium size team which may include business analysts, project managers and/or scrum masters, engineers, developers, external resources and vendors against line of business or functional technology deliverables.
- Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.
- Program Management:
- Serve as the project manager and/or Scrum Master for initiatives within the Enterprise Data Production Support space
- Own end‑to‑end delivery responsibilities for assigned initiatives, including:
- Scope definition and planning
- Backlog and milestone management
- Dependency and risk management
- Execution tracking and delivery reporting
- Drive larger, “bigger‑ticket” initiatives that span multiple components of the Data Supply Chain
- Coordinate work across multiple teams where formal authority may not exist, ensuring progress and accountability
- Agile & Delivery Practices
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies as applicable (planning, stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives)
- Maintain delivery artifacts such as roadmaps, plans, timelines, and status updates
- Help teams stay focused on execution, removing blockers and escalating risks as needed
- Ensure operational initiatives deliver measurable, sustainable outcomes, not just short‑term fixes
- Change Management & Stakeholder Communication
- Support department‑level change management associated with operational improvements and new capabilities
- Communicate initiative status, impacts, and outcomes clearly to technical teams and stakeholders
- Translate operational and technical work into clear delivery updates, risks, and next steps
Education
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
- OR equivalent experience (required)
Work Experience
- 5+ years of relevant leadership experience (required)
- Technical background supporting or enabling enterprise data technologies and platforms (required)
- Google Cloud Platform (preferred)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $96,000.00 - $181,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.Please click here for a list of benefits for which this position is eligible.
