The Business Systems Integration Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, supporting, and improving software tools, data interfaces, integrations, reports, dashboards, databases, workflows, and business systems used by OGI Process Equipment. This role supports Engineering, Drafting, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Sales, Purchasing, Accounting, and Operations by helping ensure that company systems are reliable, secure, accurate, connected, and aligned with business processes.

The Business Systems Integration Developer works across OGI's core software environment, including Epicor, PRO.File PLM, Excel, SolidWorks, SharePoint, ClickUp, SQL, VEEAM, and C Sharp/C# applications. This position requires the ability to understand operational needs, translate process requirements into practical software solutions, create and modify data interfaces through APIs, work with JSON-based data structures, support users, troubleshoot system issues, document changes, and maintain strong data integrity across connected systems.

Business Systems Development & Support

  • Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve internal software tools, reports, integrations, scripts, dashboards, forms, and workflows used by OGI departments.
  • Support Epicor-related programming, reporting, data extraction, process automation, workflow support, user troubleshooting, and integration needs in coordination with business stakeholders.
  • Support PRO.File PLM related configuration, data flow, document control support, process improvement, reporting, and integration needs related to engineering and product lifecycle information.
  • Support Excel-based tools, including structured workbooks, templates, formulas, data validation, macros, data cleanup, reporting, and controlled operational spreadsheets.
  • Support SharePoint site structures, lists, libraries, permissions coordination, document workflows, data organization, and integration with Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Support ClickUp configuration, workflows, dashboards, automations, reporting, task templates, and process visibility for engineering and operational teams.
  • Support SolidWorks-related data processes, engineering workflow connections, file structure coordination, and integration needs related to design, drafting, and controlled engineering information.

Programming, Database & Integration Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain applications, utilities, scripts, and integrations using C Sharp/C# and other approved development methods used by the company.
  • Create, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, views, data extracts, reports, and database-related processes supporting business operations.
  • Design, develop, document, test, and maintain Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) used to exchange information between Epicor, PRO.File PLM, SharePoint, ClickUp, SQL databases, customer systems, vendor systems, and other business applications.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain RESTful API integrations and other approved interface methods to automate business processes, reduce manual data entry, and improve data consistency between systems.
  • Create, modify, troubleshoot, and support JSON data payload structures used for system-to-system communications, including serialization, deserialization, validation, mapping, and transformation of data.
  • Design and maintain secure data interfaces between ERP, PLM, document control, engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, inventory, project management, reporting, and accounting systems.
  • Develop tools and services that consume, transform, validate, and publish JSON data across multiple software platforms.
  • Configure and maintain middleware, web services, API endpoints, data connectors, and authentication methods necessary to support enterprise application integrations.
  • Troubleshoot API communication failures, data mapping issues, synchronization errors, authentication failures, transaction errors, and interface performance problems.
  • Analyze system data for accuracy, completeness, duplication, workflow gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Build and support integrations between business systems where approved, including controlled data movement between ERP, PLM, project management, file management, reporting, and engineering-related platforms.
  • Assist with data imports, exports, conversions, corrections, validation, and testing while maintaining appropriate controls and documentation.
  • Follow change management practices, including testing, approval, documentation, revision tracking, backup coordination, and communication before deploying changes to production systems.

System Reliability, Security & Backup Support

  • Support system reliability by monitoring recurring issues, investigating root causes, documenting corrective actions, and coordinating with internal stakeholders or external vendors as required.
  • Support VEEAM-related backup, recovery, verification, monitoring, and documentation activities in coordination with management and any external IT resources.
  • Assist with access control, permission review, user setup support, account changes, and data protection practices for supported systems when assigned.
  • Protect company, customer, financial, engineering, and proprietary information by following company security, confidentiality, and data handling requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for applications, reports, scripts, integrations, data structures, API endpoints, JSON payloads, data mapping documents, backup-related processes, user instructions, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in C Sharp/C# programming, including the ability to develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and document business applications, utilities, services, and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, software design methodologies, debugging practices, and software lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, including queries, data analysis, troubleshooting, views, stored procedures, reporting support, data modeling, performance considerations, and data validation.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, modifying, documenting, and supporting APIs, RESTful services, web services, and system-to-system data interfaces.
  • Demonstrated experience working with JSON data structures, including serialization, deserialization, validation, transformation, data mapping, payload troubleshooting, and interface testing.
  • Understanding API authentication and secure access methods, including API keys, token-based authentication, OAuth concepts, and secure credential handling.
  • Ability to troubleshoot integration failures, transaction errors, mapping problems, synchronization issues, timeout issues, malformed JSON payloads, authentication errors, and interface performance bottlenecks.
  • Ability to support or learn Epicor ERP workflows, data structures, reports, user support requirements, business process automation, and API or data interface requirements.
  • Ability to support or learn PRO.File PLM workflows, document/product data structures, revision-related processes, engineering information control requirements, and data interface requirements.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, structured tables, data validation, lookup functions, reporting workbooks, pivot-style analysis, and controlled spreadsheet practices.
  • Ability to support SharePoint libraries, lists, permissions coordination, document organization, workflow structure, Microsoft 365 collaboration processes, and approved data interfaces.
  • Ability to support ClickUp workflows, dashboards, task templates, process visibility, automations, reporting requirements, and approved data interfaces.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks-related engineering data, file organization, design workflow support, and interaction with drafting or engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with VEEAM backup concepts, backup monitoring, recovery verification, documentation, and coordination with IT resources.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, including API documentation, integration specifications, endpoint definitions, data dictionaries, data mapping documents, test plans, deployment notes, and support procedures.
  • Experience with source code management, change control, testing, deployment practices, and maintaining audit-ready records of system changes.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to understand business processes, ask effective questions, translate user needs into technical requirements, and deliver practical solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, system stability, data integrity, and security.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaborate effectively with Engineering, Drafting, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Sales, Purchasing, Accounting, and Operations teams.

Experience and Education

  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Development, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of programming, business systems support, database development, ERP/PLM support, manufacturing systems support, system integration, or related technical experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, industrial equipment, oil and gas, or project-based business environments preferred.
  • Experience with Epicor, PRO.File PLM, Excel, SolidWorks, SharePoint, ClickUp, SQL, VEEAM, and C Sharp/C# strongly preferred.
  • Experience creating, modifying, documenting, and supporting REST APIs, web services, JSON-based data interfaces, middleware, and system integrations preferred.
  • Experience developing reports, integrations, workflow improvements, database queries, data cleanup routines, and internal business tools preferred.

Supervisor Responsibility

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Non-temperature-controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops.  All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing duties of this job, the employee in this position is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. This position requires walking, the ability to reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop. The employee occasionally will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Frequently visit customer sites to evaluate projects, which may require moving above, below, over and around stationary objects. Some sites may have space limitations which, may make movement while installing, adjusting or repairing equipment and parts difficult. These customer sites may potentially be hot, cold or loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position will typically have extended hours before or after normal work hours to test, install or implement software solutions.
