Job Description

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will partner closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and Scrum teams to deliver high‑quality solutions across complex financial systems. This role is responsible for leading business analysis activities throughout the project lifecycle, including discovery, requirements definition, user story creation, testing, and implementation support. The BSA will act as a liaison between business and technology teams, ensuring clear traceability from business needs to technical delivery.The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, extensive experience working within Agile/Scrum environments, and a solid understanding of financial services applications. This role also involves mentoring junior analysts, leading requirements and testing efforts, and collaborating with on‑shore partners to successfully deliver initiatives aligned with business objectives.

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and minimum 2-5 years relevant work experience.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience collaborating with Scrum team, especially with Product owner.
  • Scrum team liaison between developers/testers/UX/Solution Architect.
  • Experience in creating, refining, and grooming User stories.
  • Experienced in using/incorporating Wireframes.
  • Experience in understanding/leveraging historical Mainframe/CICS based applications and user interface.
  • Experience with project methodology and project life cycles.
  • In depth knowledge of business operations and processes with the ability to articulate these processes to others.
  • Experience with analysis planning, requirements elicitation, carrying out UAT, executing test scripts, implementation planning, and implementation execution.
  • Understand and apply technology as it relates to the business
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple work assignments while being able to shift priorities to meet the current business environment needs.
  • Effective written communication skills to deliver articulate communications and concisely summarize information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

PREFERRED

  • Project related experience with financial or brokerage applications:

- Retail/Commercial Banking

- Asset management

Job Responsibilities

  • Project delivery Business Analysis experience using defined project methodology and project life cycles. (waterfall, agile, iterative, combinations).
  • Self-starter and can work independently -- get work done without oversight.
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills.
  • Can plan and lead work efforts as needed.
  • Great communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Understands and applies technology as it relates to the business.
  • Track record of successful completion of business analysis activities and deliverables (as is process flows, to-be process flows, business and user requirements, data dictionary, business rules, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, SCRUM processes)
  • Working knowledge and experience with the financial industry
  • Contribute to the definition of project scope boundaries.
  • Contribute to project plan, detailing analysis tasks in the plan and providing estimates and updates to those tasks to the project manager on a regular basis.
  • Actively participate in systems requirements and design walkthroughs to ensure understanding and traceability to business needs and requirements.
  • Develop the user acceptance test plan and test conditions/scenarios.
  • Develop the user acceptance test cases and scripts.
  • Develop/Mine test data for user acceptance testing.
  • Execute test plans and test cases on a scheduled and ad hoc basis.
  • Contribute to implementation planning and post-implementation tracking.
  • Provide effective communication on project status, risks, and defects with project owners and stakeholders. This will include the ability to concisely and accurately develop sustained relationships with internal business and technology partners as well as (potentially) external vendors. Successfully manage relationships throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Identify business needs or opportunities for improvement through either broad industry knowledge, or detailed knowledge of specific products, services or processes.
  • Perform occasional ad hoc tasks as needed.
