Position DescriptionThe IT Business Solutions Partner (IT BSP) will serve as the strategic partner for Group 1001’s Property and Casualty line of business (Workers Compensation) and collaborate directly with business leaders to define, source, and lead strategic initiatives that enable them to achieve key technology-dependent organizational objectives.
This role will drive IT service strategy for all P&C departments including Customer Administration, Finance, Actuary, Legal and Compliance, Operations, and Claims.
The IT BSP will develop a trusted relationship between the business and IT by shaping an alignment strategy, connecting teams to drive service value, and orchestrating a portfolio of initiatives. They will cultivate strong business acumen and help raise IT awareness within business operations to collectively envision how technology can enable excellence.
- Strategic Partnering: Act as a connector between IT and the business to drive strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management, and relationship management.
- Business-IT Alignment: Ensure IT services, initiatives, and strategies align with business goals by deeply understanding business processes and priorities.
- Demand Management: Identify, prioritize, and advocate for business needs to ensure IT efforts provide the highest value.
- Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and IT to foster collaboration and mutual understanding.
- Innovation Facilitation: Identify and leverage innovation opportunities through awareness of new technologies and business trends.
- Service Management: Collaborate with IT Service Delivery teams to align services with objectives, address issues, and ensure satisfaction.
- Portfolio Management: Maintain a rolling portfolio of business capabilities and align IT resources accordingly; partner with PMO for executive reporting.
- Project Support: Support IT projects from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with business needs and successful execution.
- Operational Support: Bridge business and support functions, acting as liaison for escalations and driving operational efficiency.
- Lead Inception: Guide teams through the Inception Phase including needs assessment, solution definition, and output creation (e.g., requirements, business case, procurement needs).
- Change Management: Facilitate smooth implementation of IT and business process changes through effective communication and user support.
- Value Realization: Measure and report on the business value delivered by IT, using defined KPIs and performance metrics.
- Communication: Act as a translator between business and IT, ensuring mutual understanding of needs, expectations, and constraints.
- Account Management: Manage financial activities (budgeting, contracting, expense reporting), handle administrative tasks (approvals, procurements, QBRs, Steering Committees), and oversee vendor relationships (onboarding, service evaluation, performance measurement).
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in IT Services
- Experience in Financial Services or Insurance (Property & Casualty preferred)
- Familiarity with Policy Administration, Underwriting, and Claims systems a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent business acumen and consensus-building ability
- Strategic thinker with strong collaboration skills
- Ability to develop business knowledge and communicate it effectively to IT stakeholders
- Experience working with senior leadership, business partners, and external customers
- Broad IT knowledge and familiarity with its capabilities and limitations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $180,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
