The (Senior) Operational Continuity Manager plays a key role in designing, driving, and continuously improving Rabobank’s awareness and communication approach for Operational Continuity and Crisis Management, ensuring strong organizational understanding, engagement, and preparedness in Business Resilience.

You & your role

The role ensures that the bank can anticipate, withstand, respond to, and recover from disruptions, safeguarding critical services, customers, and the bank’s license to operate. It acts as the functional authority for the business resilience platform, tooling, and lifecycle management, integrating regulatory expectations with its continuity strategy.

Examples from practice

  • Support the definition and maintenance of the bank’s critical service inventory, including impact tolerances and the mapping of minimum configurations required to deliver these services.

  • Contribute to establishing and governing an integrated operational continuity vision, including lifecycle policies and standards.

  • Ensure operational continuity requirements effectively enable crisis management, recovery, and resolution scenarios.

  • Drive enterprise BCM maturity through lifecycle ownership, tooling, training, capability uplift, and continuous benchmarking.

  • Support regulatory alignment and stakeholder management, including audits, resolvability assessments, and crisis governance.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development, monitor, deployment and governing the Operational Continuity framework.

  • Ensure bank wide readiness and resilience by driving exercises, maturity monitoring, risk mitigation, and seamless integration with crisis and resilience functions.

  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on operational continuity effectiveness, using data and insights to continuously improve reach, engagement, and impact.

  • Engage and align stakeholders across the organization, acting as a central point of coordination for resilience-related initiatives and activities.

  • Participate in activities related to the BCM lifecycle and other relevant business resilience activities.

  • Support adoption of Business Resilience tools, processes, and practices by integrating communication, training, and change management approaches.

You & your talent

  • Academic degree (Master) in Business Administration, IT or Security, Crisis Management.

  • Engineer: 10 year plus experience in Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management or related domains, certified e.g. MBCI or MBCP, and/or CISA, CISM and CRISC.

  • Expert: 5 year plus experience in Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management or related domains, certified e.g. CBCI or CBCP, and/or CISA

  • Affinity with Business Continuity Management and Crisis Management, preferable certified, e.g. CBCI.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skill.

  • Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across different departments.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to take on a pro-active initiative, to structure and report on progress (result oriented).

  • Gather information independently, prepare an advice and report on progress.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills Required

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, IT, Security, or Crisis Management
  • 10+ years experience in Business Continuity Management or Crisis Management (Engineer level)
  • Certified (Engineer level): MBCI or MBCP and/or CISA, CISM, CRISC
  • 5+ years experience in Business Continuity Management or Crisis Management (Expert level)
  • Certified (Expert level): CBCI or CBCP and/or CISA
  • Affinity with Business Continuity and Crisis Management (preferably certified e.g., CBCI)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across departments
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Proactive initiative, ability to structure work and report on progress (result oriented)
  • Independent information gathering, prepare advice and report on progress
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
